Pero el caso del \u00faltimo fichaje de los primeros no se corresponde a la imagen de deportista de m\u00e1ximo nivel medi\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Justin Gallegos<\/strong> es un corredor de &#8216;cross-country&#8217; del club de atletismo de la Universidad de Oreg\u00f3n, su ciudad de origen. A sus 20 a\u00f1os apost\u00f3 por esta disciplina, que b\u00e1sicamente consiste en realizar pruebas atl\u00e9ticas por circuitos no urbanos. Pero su particularidad no es esa, sino que <strong>naci\u00f3 con par\u00e1lisis cerebral<\/strong>, que afecta a la movilidad, coordinaci\u00f3n y equilibrio.<\/p>\n<p>Su historia se ha convertido en un fen\u00f3meno y un ejemplo de superaci\u00f3n, y por eso Nike le ha contratado. La noticia la recibi\u00f3 de manos del propio John Douglass, director de Insights de Nike (una especie de &#8216;director deportivo&#8217;), y el v\u00eddeo de c\u00f3mo se lo cuenta se ha hecho viral.<\/p>\n<p>Douglass se present\u00f3 con el contrato en la mano para buscar a Gallegos, que emocionado se ech\u00f3 a llorar al ver la noticia. Today I made Nike history and became the very first athlete with Cerebral Palsy to sign a contract with Nike! You don\u2019t realize how realistic and emotional your dreams are until they play out before your very eyes! Signing this contract was a huge success for me and I would not have made it without my friends and family and teammates! This was perhaps the most emotional moment in my seven years of running! Growing up with a disability, the thought of becoming a professional athlete is as I have said before like the thought of climbing Mt. Everest! It is definitely possible, but the odds are most definitely not in your favor! Hard work pays off! Hundreds of miles, blood, sweat, and tears has lead me here along with a few permanent scars! But the journey is damn sure not over!!! Looking back, I would guess there is only a few select people who would see me were I am today! I have gone through just about everything in the book to be where I am today! I was once a kid in leg braces who could barely put on foot in front of the other! Now I have signed a contract with Nike Running! Trust the process! And most of all trust in God! God is good!
