Este domingo 9 de septiembre se celebra el D\u00eda Internacional del S\u00edndrome Alcoh\u00f3lico Fetal (SAF) y desde FEDER nos unimos a esta conmemoraci\u00f3n para mostrar su apoyo a todas las familias que conviven con esta enfermedad poco frecuente en nuestro pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n

El espectro del s\u00edndrome alcoh\u00f3lico fetal (ESAF) se incluye dentro de los llamados s\u00edndromes de influencia prenatal. A diferencia de los s\u00edndromes gen\u00e9ticos, el ESAF se produce durante la gestaci\u00f3n del embri\u00f3n y no viene determinado por un error en la codificaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica. Su causa es la ingesta y abuso de alcohol (etanol) por parte de la madre durante el periodo de formaci\u00f3n del feto antes de su nacimiento. <\/p>\n

Entre las caracter\u00edsticas generales del SAF se encuentra poco peso al nacer, percentiles bajos, microcefalia, problemas de desarrollo y org\u00e1nicos, adem\u00e1s de posibles episodios epil\u00e9pticos y coordinaci\u00f3n deficiente del sistema locomotor.<\/p>\n

Desde FEDER queremos poner en valor la labor del tejido asociativo por dar visibilidad a esta enfermedad poco frecuente y apoyar a diario al colectivo de familias que conviven con ella. En concreto, reconoce el papel de AFASAF, asociaci\u00f3n de familias afectadas de SAF, que naci\u00f3 en 2014 para mejorar la calidad de vida del colectivo.<\/p>\n
